GYMPRO AND OCEAN5 = WORLD RECORD HOLDERS

GymPro and Ocean5 = World record-holders

As you know we embarked on an adventure with the crew of the Ocean 5 over 12 months ago. It was our honour to get involved and sponsor the boys and provide them with our active range for both their training and voyage across the Atlantic for the Talisker Whisky Rowing Challenge.

The Challenge involved rowing 3000 miles across the Atlantic from the Canary Islands to Antigua! The herculean effort of both the mental and physical aspect of rowing for 2 hours on 2 hours off for 40 days was nothing short of miraculous.

Not only did the boys complete the challenge, they broke the world record!!! Finishing in an astonishing 35 days, 19hours, 50 minutes.

Alongside the event, the crew were raising awareness and funds for their charity, The Plastic Soup Foundation. Which is aimed at the prevention of plastics entering our oceans. At the current entry rate, in 30 years, there will be more plastics than fish in the world's oceans. Two members of the crew got engaged after the challenge and we’d like to both congratulate them and wish them well in their future together. We couldn’t think of a more beautiful setting than the beautiful beach in Antigua.
