COULD SOUND HEALING HELP YOU?

Have you ever asked yourself questions like:

  • Am I suffering from stress and anxiety?
  • Is my mind in good health?
  • Can I help my mind with sound?
  • I struggle with the concept of meditation, what else can I do?

I also pondered some of the questions above and then a family member told me about sound healing and more specifically a particular class they had done and found so helpful.

As you know we at GymPro love to learn about the human body and more importantly human health. We always try and bring to you the most apt and up to date information on our health and ways we can combat the stresses of modern society and bring some calm and a sense of balance back to our lives.

Allow us to introduce to you Becky Cresswell, founder and owner of Grounded Peace. Which runs sound healing, yoga and holistic therapies.

For our first session with Becky, we will be trying her amazing sound bath where she plays the amazing crystal bowls and gently sings. Her tone of voice is perfect for relaxation and calming the soul.

Here's what Becky had to say about sound healing:

“Sound has been used for thousands of years as a calming and healing tool. Instruments such as Tibetan Singing Bowls, for example, have been used in Asia during prayer and meditation for thousands of years. Now instruments such as these are being used for rebalancing energy in the body, healing, wellbeing and relaxation. We are all made up of multiple energy frequencies. Sound healing works by using sound healing instruments such as Tibetan Singing Bowls, Crystal Bowls, Drums, Gongs and Toning (the voice) to interact with these energy frequencies and rebalancing them within the body. Sound therapy is known for helping with physical illnesses, balancing emotions and helping to still the busy mind.”

Sound and Music have always played a distinct and important role in Becky’s life. Being a qualified Musician and Music Teacher as well as a Sound Healer she knows more than most about the profound healing effects sound can have on the body and mind. When doing Sound Healing with groups during a Sound Bath she intuitively feels which instruments to play and how to play them. Becky is predominately drawn to playing the Shamanic Buffalo Drum and using her, as has been described by many, ‘Haunting...Ancestral...Otherworldly Voice’ to channel whatever comes to her and directs it to wherever there is an imbalance of energy in the body. “Sound has such a profound effect of healing the body’s energy, mind and soul and it’s so wonderful to be able to share the beauty of Sound Healing with everyone to help them on their healing journey”.

We will be chatting to Becky on Thursday to find out more about these amazing classes and then she will be hosting a live class with us on Sunday evening to help bring our weekend to a relaxing close.
